We had read so much on the internet about this wonderful area we felt we had to visit it as it was so perfectly situated to access all of the wonderful cities of Andalucia we just couldn’t wait to get there and explore. Driving into the area was mesmerizing, the oceans of olive groves were just unbelievable and we knew it was the olive region of Spain but this was just incredible. What a contrast to all the other areas in Spain and Inland Andalucia we have ever visited, this was when we knew it was to be our home and then we found Casa Pino Solo.
After spending time and effort to create this magical business with refurbishment and personal touches we are now 3 years down the line and our business is one of the most successful and busiest in the area.We spent nearly eight leisurely years to find the perfect area to build our dream hospitality business in Spain and we found it, Iznajar!
Tourism is also a major factor of Iznajar now and has risen over the years, we now see visitors and guests from all over the world who fall in love with Iznajar and also its proximity to visit Malaga, Granada, Seville, Cordoba, Ronda and the many other accessible places.
One of the reasons for us moving to Spain was to experience the laid back way of life here in the ‘Real Spain’.The Spanish people are so friendly and welcome everyone and absolutely love it if you try to speak a few words of their language.
Another fantastic part of this region is the food. All the little bars and restaurants serve the famous tapas and also paella and you can get wonderful meals and also bottles of wine at such reasonable prices compared to the coast. Also offered is a ‘Menu Del Dia’ which is aimed for the workers,at 2pm the local bars offer a 3 course meal with a drink for around 8 euros per person. Nowadays anyone can go in and eat these meals and i have to say they are fantastic, food just keeps coming and absolutely gorgeous. You really must experience this and eating with the workers gives a real sense of community.
All Andalucia including Iznajar has local ferrias which are party times for certain dates of the year, one main date is the 7th September to the 11th which is just amazing. The Spanish carry statues from the church all round the village taking approximately 60 men for each one and there is live entertainment all night long. If you can come to visit here during these dates or even for New Year or the Spanish three kings on Jan 6th you can integrate into the community and they will of course welcome you with open arms.
Easter is also another big celebration here! What we also love about our life in Spain is the pace of life and it is so much like the way England used to be. It took some getting used to having shops closed on a Sunday as it is a day of rest and also the siestas from 2pm till 5pm everyday. I think the Spanish really have life right and it is a real pleasure to be able to say we live and breathe this wonderful community and area of course.
At Casa Pino Solo we can offer so many things for you that it is really worth a visit to our wonderful area and to our wonderful home that you will definitely love and want to visit time and time again!
